On October 5, 2016, we launched Akupara Games to fill a void we saw in the indie development and publishing spheres. Over the past year we have grown in ways that we couldn’t have imagined and are excited to see where the future will take us.
In the past year, we have:
- Published 3 titles (The Metronomicon: Slay the Dance Floor, Star Vikings Forever, and Whispering Willows)
- Provided development or marketing support for 22 additional projects for clients
- Grown our core team from 3 to 24
- Built our social media channels, and currently have over 3,500 subscribers and followers

In addition to those achievements, Akupara has partnered with some powerful advisors to make our product even stronger. Those advisors include Kellee Santiago (Google, Indie Fund) who has given fantastic feedback on our original projects, Jared Yeager (FoxNext, Indie Fund) who has had incredible insight on development and publishing practices, Alex Ryan a master PR & Marketing expert, and Erik Anderson who has provided invaluable guidance on company growth.
Recurring clients quickly became a main point of focus for our business. Hashbang Games, Rogue Snail, and Puuba are three recurring partnerships that have been wildly successful for all involved. We hope to grow more relationships like these three in the future.
As we turn over a new leaf, we are excited to enter our second year of business with several large projects on our plate. We are continuing the marketing for the Relic Hunters Legend Kickstarter campaign that launched yesterday, and will be breaking ground on a new project: TRUNDL.buddy.
Looking to the future, we see strength in the division of our services. Recently we revamped the website to clearly define that Akupara offers both development and publishing services. Both departments have completely separate teams that bring game-changing innovation to their fields.
We will continue to develop for new consoles and incorporate new technologies as they emerge. PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch, VR, and AR, are all platforms that our team is working on to provide the best outlets for each game.
