Meeting Your Intergalactic Party Planners

Akupara Games is bringing you the next big party game! Founded in 2016 by David Logan, we are an LA-based company providing publishing, marketing, and development services to independent studios and designers. We value creativity and digital storytelling. We seek to create a compassionate and personalized experience for every client. If you would like to see some of our other projects and games, check out our website at AkuparaGames.com!

Akupara Games is comprised of many talented and passionate individuals, so let’s take a little further look at the masterminds behind the game! From left to right, we have Mike Shanks, Julie Henderson, David Logan, Matthew Weekes, and Richard Suchit. Mike Shanks is our Creative Director and spent countless hours creating all of the original designs and art of the game, including the cards and box. Julie Henderson is part of our Marketing team but has stepped up to our “Swiss Army knife” for this project, ranging from game design to copywriting to making sure everything meets our high expectations. Our big boss-man David Logan is the creator of the game who is a self-proclaimed “Sci-Fi nerd” that loves party games; in fact, this game’s concept was inspired by the Cantina scene from Stars Wars which had a slew of aliens from across the galaxy. Additionally, being a lover of party games, he thought to make his own party game where the game was a party in itself! Next up is the game’s chief game designer – Matthew Weekes – who was responsible for bringing the game’s conception to life and fleshing out the world through writing the text for each card and backdrop for the game. Lastly is Richard Suchit who is in charge of Marketing – if you’ve heard about the game, there’s a high chance that you’ve heard about it from the man himself!

As we mainly deal in the digital space of game development, UFO a Go-Go is our first foray into a completely different medium as a physical tabletop game. With extensive experience designing and developing video games, we have found the design process to be quite similar. Our biggest challenge in this experience comes in manufacturing, however, we are fortunate to have significant connections with designers and manufacturers in the tabletop community. We are confident that we will knock it out of this world.

We would also love to extend a special thanks to The Coalition and our wonderful friends for playtesting, and Forged by Geeks for manufacturing guidance.
