Card Type 101 – Aliens

Let’s delve deeper into the mechanics of the game by looking at the most abundant, and important, card type of the game – the Alien Cards! Aliens each have their own rules and customs that Hosts must follow in order to keep them at their party.

These cards are your points and will help you throw the largest party in the galaxy to win you the game! Once any Host has acquired the specified amount of points, depending on the number of hosts, they will place their Alien token on the Winner’s Bridge board. The first Host to maintain the required points for five turns on the board will be crowned the Intergalactic Party Captain. But, if you are moving along the board and you go below the required points, you will immediately be removed from the board! So, be careful!

To obtain Alien Cards, each Host will draw a card from the main deck at the start of their turn. One type of the cards drawn may be an eager Alien who will immediately join your party. If it is an Alien Card, the Host must reveal it to the other Hosts and read aloud the rules for the card. In most instances, these rules only affect the owner of the card. However, there are some that do involve other Hosts in resolving their rule!

This is where the true fun comes in – Party Fouls. Not only should you keep track of your Alien cards and their rules, but you will want to keep tabs on the rules of your fellow Hosts. At any time after you have noticed that another Host has failed to resolve the rules of one of their cards, you may call them out with a Party Foul accusation. If it is successful, you will then steal away their Alien to come join your galactic party! The more points needed to enter the Winner’s Bridge and the more Hosts playing, the more you can expect a crazy and hectic evening. And that’s before anyone starts calling out Party Fouls!
